Weird, Keyless entry pops up headlights
My dad's 1999 TransAm (aka his baby) may be possessed. Last time I went home, the keyless entry, lock and unlock buttons, caused the headlights to raise then lower and make an odd grinding sound (probably the motor trying to shut an already shut headlamp). Any clue whats going on and how to start fixing it? The car has been sitting in a garage for the past few months, but has been cranked about once a week. Any clue will be helpful thanks guys.

Stripped headlight gear. Common on these cars. Do a search for headlight gear and all your questions will be answered.

mrr23, did you ever go to the brass gears? I put the passenger side on last year and haven't had any issues yet but the cars lights have only been on maybe twice since then.

Did the brass gear thing. No issues here. Highly recommend it.
