you wouldnt have to, but i would seriously recommend it! The 98s are a PITA to tune! If you dont wanna do that, you'll just need to flash it with a 98 m6 tune.

Is there something actually wrong with your engine??

Because you can just swap the trans itself, it will bolt right up.

why do want a m6 yeah it fun but are you going to race alot? no one can shift faster than a a4 with a stage 3 shift kit. i beat cars faster than me all the time because of my trany.

Not everyone wants to build a straight-line race car. I really don't care how fast autos can be, I can't stand them. I like shifting for myself, clutch and all. It just makes it a more well rounded car, stalled autos suck in the twisties, suck down fuel, and put down less power than M6's.

that's understandable. i love manuals too all my other cars are sticks. i just think that if you want to corner a lot but a porsche or wrx. trust me i just got rid of my 944 turbo. but for racing i went auto. if your not in to winning go stick you'll have a lot more fun. sorry to piss you m6's off but you have to agree.

i agree with you. stalls do help quite a bit. smashing gears is fun as hell though! those who can row gears on the strip and compete with autos get a from me

my motor and tranny are fine. But theres supposed to be more power with the ss motor than the z28. And i can get the stuff cheap cause my buddy totaled his ss being stupid racing in the rain.

if anything its just the heads that flow better and its not just SS's. Since your car is a 98, then the heads will flow better than the ones you have, but maybe not enough to justify the swap. If you can get the motor, great! do it, but keep it as a back up if your paying for it, then get a set of heads instead or a cam.

Its only about 10HP, and its due to the Ram Air intake system and "low restriction" factory exhaust. Meaning if you add a Ram air hood and aftermarket exhaust, you'll already be making just as much or more power than the LS1 in the SS with your Z28 LS1
