    Turning off EGR codes

I had my EGR valve fail on my 99 SS and was wondering if I just put a block off plate where the valve was and turn off the codes with the Diablosport programmer I have will it still pass emisions for the yearly inspection. I would rather not spend $150 for a new valve if it will pass emisions here in Houston, and it is running better now than before with it unplugged. Thanks in advance for the help...

All depends on how Texas handles emissions inspections. In VA, emissions is simply plugging in to the OBD II connector, and checking for any codes set. If it passes the computer test, the car passes, even if the inspector notices that there are missing emissions parts.

Ahh you mean in NORTHERN Va don't you No plug in anywhere else.

TO the OP, I don't think that the Diablo will disable codes. It can be done through mail order tuning if you don't have a local guy. http://www.tunedbyfrost.com/services2.htm

what revision is your predator on? when it boots up to the main menu, there's a number at the top of the screen.. that's the revision number...

if it's an older 2.xx revision, then you can disable the EGR codes yourself with the predator...

would be under the OBD menu option...

if it's on a newer 9rxx revision number, then you'd need to get a custom tune to have those disabled...
