I've bought several tuning books,,,,4 or 5 to be exact. Even one that was written by someone claiming to be an exclusive HPtuner user. Read them all front to back and not one of them actually explains exactly what Mrr23 is describing. They all seem to be just generalizations of tuning procedures that weren't much help to me.

Well let me open the laptop and look at it. Give me some time. There are quite a few things I don't understand, how they interact with other tables etc...and what determines certain things. I pick up bits and peices from reading in HPtuners website, and keep a log book here with notes. But some little details that seem important are sometimes not there. I get 50% of my information just from the questions people ask and the responses they get,,,some of that stuff just isn't in the archives over there that I have read.

Are you sure you want me to do this??? It could be lengthy

Semantics, you know what I meant...

Ok, since I need to be more specific:
How can you tune VE and MAF AFR error vs. commanded fueling with autotap doing the logging?

it would be a real pain in the ass but it could be done if you can log map and rpm. I forget if autotap let you log maf freq. or not, I know efilives old add on logging software would let you. It even had a histogram for it. The trick would be getting your wideband data correctly lined up. I know back in those days people tried using the egr inputs and all kinds of stuff but if I remember correctly there was always an offset that you had to account for.
Keep in mind he has an LT1 so his options are pretty limited tuning wise. I know tunercat worked for a lot of people back then, those were the dark ages of tuning though.
