people are going to tell you not to tune a stock engine. Most will tell you not to buy a hand held tuner especially if you plan on modifing the car much. Do you have any mods? I just bought and installed a hand held Hypertech unit, im not very impressed. i did need it for the 3.73s i put in. Its slightly moded and i plan on doing a little more. I have Long tube headers SLP cat back exhust SLP lid and smooth bellows. But with out an intake or cam and heads, im not ready to take it to a tuner. But i plan on buying a HPtuner or LS1edit tuning soft ware for now and for future mods. hope that helped.

hey frost I want to hold 1st gear longer at part throttle.
I have hptuners. do I just bump the mph box for the 1-2 shift up to where I want it?
also if I'm doing more than 60mph it won't automaticly drop to 2nd at WOT do I just bump that box to where I want it for mph?

You have both part-throttle tables and WOT tables for shifting up and down.
Do all of the experimenting that you want, just make sure that your WOT MPHs and peak MPHs per gear in the part throttle tables match up or are 1 MPH higher in the WOT side.
