Tuners need some advice please

Well in my 98 T/A i just swapped out for a newer 2000 camaro SS (no traction+curb=new rear end and long story) Anyway the rear end in it now has 3.42 over the stock 2.73 which is what i was originally going to go to anyway. But thats besides the point. Now with the new gear ration my speedo will be off and was wondering if anyone has any advice on hand held tuners to go with to correct it until down the line when i get the dyno tune done. I am looking at the new hypertech Max Energy programmer and just wondering if anyone has any certain bran that they think works better? Like i said this is just to keep the car correct until down the line when i put the cam and heads on it and get it dyno tuned. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

i would get the diablo sport programer, i have one and i like it alot. i bought mine from slp and it has thier custom power tune downloaded on it, and you can really feel the difference.(especially at high rpms)

oh yeah and it lets you set gear ratio, tire size, diagnostic, etc...

Yeah i looked at diablo sport ggino but i can't find one for a 98 they start at 99 and go up.

that sucks! i would try calling diablosport tomorrow. i dont see how they could have left out the 98's.

Not sure actually, but if you look at alot of the tuners they start at 99 and go up few are actually for 98 f bodys. i have an 85 that was hard to find some parts for due to being the first year of the tuned port injection and now it seems as i have the same problem with my 98 with most parts starting at 99 and going up lol. Oh well i wont argue i love the car

so if you get one from SLP it has an extra program in it? Is that what I am hearing?

Yes, get the Diablo Predator. Mucho better than hypertech.

yeah it has a tune from them(slp) instead of the diablo tune.
