    torque management in hp tuners?

I am very green yet on hp tuners software. just done a few basic things. I noticed the torque management setting on there. from what I understand it kinda tames things down a bit when you mash the peddle to help save the rest of the drive line a bit.

anyone on here ever mess with that? does it matter if your auto or manual trans?

here's writeup i did on using hptuners. you can click the torque management link and it'll explain some things. torque management is more apparant in auto versus manual as it lessens the torque output between shifts.

if you're an a4 car don't forget to remove it on both the engine and tranny side. I've been running with it zero'd for years.

since you have the program you might as well drop it down.
I'm an auto and it made a world of difference zero mine out along with dropping shift delay time.
being a manual you won't notiv as big of a difference, but every little bit helps

I'm gonna try to install my lc-1 this weekend. maybe I'll play with the torque management when I'm done.

Take your time and get good grounds. Where you mounting your gauge? Did you order one?

I was thinking of not using the guage. I really dont wanna get a pillar pod just for one guage. besides I can get the a/f reading through my hp tuner scanner can't I? at least thats how I was thinking it would work cuz I don't have a serial port on my laptop.

yup you can use just hptuners on the laptop by tapping the brown wire off of your lc-1 into pin 1 on the interface and grounding pin 5.
you dont need to run a separate gauge

I wouldn't recommend running it without some way of knowing what the lc-1 is reading. There will most likely be a ground offset and you need some way of verifying that hptuners reading is actual AFR.

Thanks Orion, That worked great. It cost me 1.90$!!! I have since turn the gauge so its straight. And next week I will cut some more off the back so its even more flush. Looks fine IMO. Plus it was 2 bucks.
