Threw a Code?? (help)
hi guys. my check engine light went off last night. my car only has 54k on it and i keep up with it extremely well. the car has no signs of lack of power or in need of maintenance. i went to autozone today and the code it threw was:
P0410
PCM determined that a malfunction exists in the secondary air injection system.
probable causes:
1. circuit relay defective or fuse open
2. check connector and wiring
3. AIR pump defective or hoses blocked
anyone hear of this before or know what this can be/how i can fix it..
your help is greatly appreciated...01 m6 z28 - lid / lt headers / 3' ory w no cats / flowmaster catback w 3' dmh e-cutout / nelson pcm tune

Did you keep the secondary air or remove it when you did LTs?

Hi, Guessing. Trying to remember something. Son had a code along the same lines. Ither side of the engine on the top of the exaust manifold. There are 2 metal diaphrams on top of the pipes, rubber hose on the other end. The internal diaphram gets carboned up. Won't close. You get flow when you shouldn't. Take them off & try to blow thru. They seat & under pressure, they open. If you can blow thru it without any problems. It's bad. Dave

those will be p1415 or p1416 codes.
Have you verified that the emmissions stuff is on or off the car? Do you have a.i.r. hoses going to the one of your header primaries on each side of the car? If you have the air system hooked up first check fuses and relay's and verify that the pump is coming on....if it is then start looking at the hoses that run to the check valves on the manifolds and see if any are cracked or broken.
