tcs on/off
is it possible to have the traction control set to automatically off whenever the car is started and then it can be turned on whenever necessary? if so can it be done through a mail order tune?
i already have a frost tune but i plan on a few other mods here and there and would get it retuned.

Looks like they may not be making it anymore as they have limited inventory. Thought about this for our car as well.

I just leave the TC unit unplugged under the hood

If you pull the fuse for TCS, it will obviously kill it as well

Speed Inc sell a TCS Reverse Module for about $80.00 US
Simple plug in module so when you start the car the traction control is off by default

That switch seems like a useless modification to me Not trying to be argumentative or negative, but why spend $80 or better on something you can do whenever you start your car up? I'd just ask Frost the next time you get it tuned, $100 or better and you'd be getting a tune and possibly a TCS reverse activation control thing-a-ma-jig
That reminds me, I need to get my exhaust done and computer sent out to him before the first week of February.... damn, I'm SLACKIN'!!

I have one of the SLP units I bought off eBay, all it does is keep you from getting in your car and forgetting to turn OFF TC'S cause it is already off. Great if your forgetful ...

When I upgraded to a 97-02 center console I installed a switch i got from autozone (one of those cheap on/off switches with a small light.
I hid the switch down inside the cupholder that slides out and hit the switch to turn off.
It stays off at all times unless I want to turn it on. Very simple I just never push the button ever and its always turned off.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
On dry days, I always turn mine off after starting my car. On wet/snowy days, I leave the T/C on at all times.

I believe the same SLP module works on newer transmissions, so I'm surprised that they may be discontinuing it. It is also a lot cheaper than $80 US, unless they've upped the price. It amazes me that something so trivial is so expensive to remedy, but them's the breaks I guess.
If I had my time back, I'd never have ordered the TCS option. I never drive the car with it on anyway.

Sunfire Yellow- 02 Collector Edition T/A
Yep I've contemplated buying slp reverse tcs mod. but it seems pricey for such a mindful thought of just pressing it right after you start the car.
Don't want it on while at the track?... then simply unplug it while going through tech.
It'd be worth it if it cost half it's original price!!!Last edited by LS2GTO; 01-31-2010 at 04:56 PM.
