Probably everyone on here with an M6 has one except you. It is definitely a must have. There are a couple of ways to do it, either get a premade one or go the built you own method. The premade ones just plug in and wire tie out of the way. Not very expensive and seal everything up to keep out the elements. I brought my SS home from the dealer and jacked it up to install the skip shift plug. Just couldn't see the 1-4 thing.

This is a must do mod. Dealers should just throw them in as a courtesy.

I haven't had any issues with it. It took a little while to learn when it came on, but I know how to avoid it, or use it if it's appropriate.

If your WOT doesn't matter that it's there.

If you're in slow traffice or making a slow turn, just keep it in 1st a little longer. It will turn off between 3,000 and 3,500 rpm.

3500 rpm's in the work parking lots is not good for me. I get nasty looks when the cold pipes crack at 2500!

Why would you go that fast in a parking lot anyway??? Dirty looks with pipes crackling,,,,lol,,,I would think people are used to that by now with all the kids and their fart pipes running around,,,lol.

There are a couple of tricks to get around skip shift. Like mentioned once you are over 3,000 rpms it shuts off.

Also you can double clutch the car and shift anywhere you want. Roll out in first, shift anywhere under 3,000 rpm that you like, pull the shifter into the neutral gate let clutch out, push clutch back in and it will pull right into second gear no problem. Just a simple way to fool the computer.

Although this worked for me my wife couldn't deal with it so ya,,,,,I had to install a skip shift eliminator eventually. I used SLP's, works fine, I hear no more complaints about it.
