Security Light

Hoping someone could tell me why my security light on my camaro popped up about a week ago... and how I can get it turned off.. any help or advice would be appreciated.. thanks

I'd try cleaning the key first, or see if your spare works if you have one. Or fix it/bypass VATS: www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61262

Yeah you got a problem with your VATS security system.... you might wanna get it fixed ASAP because eventually it could cause the car not to start

What's most likely happend is your electrical wires have been pinched or cut off due to adjusting steering wheel. A few of my camaros have had that same problem. And yes get it fixed ASAP if will eventually not start. You will need to buy a new ignition key assy from the dealer it's not to pricy and comes with a new chipped key also.

Tried cleaning the key and that did nothing... haven't had time to check into it further but I at least know what I am dealing with.. great advice folks thanks again!!!

So this afternoon I found the harness and disconnected it... it still cranks and runs . Is that normal do I have other problems? What else should i expect?
