Scanning software - don't want to get ripped off

I have an ELM 322 cable (VPW) for GM vehicles that I've been using to try to scan my 1997 LS1 Corvette. The free datalogger programs work fine but none of them include the KNOCK RETARD pid...which is important for any sort of serious tuning. I have Tunercat already and that is working fine...it actually has all of the variables that HP Tuners has.....but I haven't found a program that will datalog everything that I need. PCMSCAN says it will but I don't see evidence that it will show me knock, as well as PROSCAN and some of the other commerical programs out there.

I know for a fact that HP Tuners can show knock...I've seen it logged on my car already.

Since I've already paid the $$$ for Tunercat and I don't need tuning software, just logging software. What does everyone recommend? I'd love to be able to tune my longtube headers and eventually a cam in the future but I only have O2, MAP, MAF, RPM logs....

Hmm, looks like its $250 as of June 3, 2006 for EFI Live scantool only...thats pretty steep...of course I guess you get what you pay for. The complete tuner package is $600! Thanks for the input. For $700 I can get a complete cam/springs/pushrod package...I think I'll try to make do with what I have.

you'll be hardpressed to find a scanner for any less than that thats even close to as customizable. Custom histograms & custom pid's are your friend.
