It took a little longer than anticipated, but I am now through Designing and Tuning High-Performance Fuel Injection Systems. To say that this book was a real eye opener is a complete understatement. I have always understood the internal workings of an engine and combustion basics, but this book has taken it to a whole new level.

Driving my DD down the road, I actually think about what zone of the VE table I would be in under a given condition. Acceleration enrichment, timing maps, lambda, injector offset, spark hook tests, wall film... it is a completely new language and has me looking at things in a whole new light.

The book has lots of formulas to break things down into understandable concepts and interrelationships. There are also many examples throughout the text that put things into real world perspective. Some sections I read, and then re-read 2 to 3 times to let it all sink in.

This definitely qualifies as "recommended reading" for anyone interested in learning more about the tuning process. I have started the Advanced Tuning book and it looks to be just as good.

Two things that have helped me quite a bit:

Master EFI Tuner - GM EFI - Written By, Dan Maslic

    And Greg Banish's DVD

Also, Following Frost's posts on all the message boards. Including the HPT forums.

Read all the sticky's and guides on HPT forum. Those help alot!

    Reviving an older thread...

Picked up a new book at Fall Carlisle, "How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems" by Jeff Hartman. I'm only about 30 pages into it, but so far it has been a great read. I'm glad I looked back at this thread as I want to find the other tuning book that Frost listed in his post, I think it was called "Master EFI Tuner".
