    re-tune or not?

I have a 2001 camaro ss and i had the car dynotuned a few years back. I recently replaced the 2 chamber flowmaster muffler to a PYPES muffler straigtht flow. Now, I noticed the car has a bit of acceleration issues at lower RPM's. It used to rip from the get go, now it kind of boggles a bit and then takes off pretty well. My question is: By replacing the muffler does this effect the old tune at all and if so, do I need to get it re-tuned?

Mods: Slp airlid, K & N filter, Slp long tube headers, high flow cats, Y-pipe.

It shouldn't. Try cleaning your MAF with some CRC cleaner. Any codes?

really should make little to no difference. I don't think it would warrant a re-tune. I would spend some time/money on maintenance. How many miles on the plugs/wires? Clean the MAF. How many miles on your O2's? Miles on fuel filter? Things like that is where I'd put that money.

No codes..as of yet. And, it's still a baby with a bit over 39,000 miles. It has been sitting all winter and this was the first time I've had it out since October.
I'll def. check out some of the maintanence on it: MAF, Plugs, etc. That CRC cleaner won't damage the MAF will it? My old car had a damaged MAF and it was supposedly linked to a cleaning agent...which didn't make sense to me.

    Thanks for the input guys.

CRC cleaner is what everyone uses to clean the MAF. Just disconnect it, remove it, spray it good, and make sure to completely let it dry before re-installing it.

Also check your air filter. If the car was sitting all winter, it might be a little sluggish the first run out.

crc makes an MAF specific cleaner. It's possible someone used no telling what on it before. It's important to use a non-residue cleaner like the CRC stuff. Some other electrical parts cleaners will also deteriorate plastics.
