I have a common code list in my signature, I searched out as many codes as I could that had answers to the questions. Its not a big hit, but it was a try!370 CI - Twin 6766 Turbo - Jakes stage 5 4L80E - MWC 9" - Holley Dominator

Thanks for the help, a lot of the threads i read kept saying it was only used durring warm up and the code set after being on the highway for 35 minutes, Now i have a better understanding of how it works. I took a small hammer out after reading some of the threads and tapped on both sides and it hasn't reset yet, if it does i will replace both and be done, thanks again.

gave it the ol maf test (tapped on both with hammer) since the threads said it was due to carbon build-up and the code has not reset yet. I know it has only been 3 days but i have put about 300 mi on it, anyway it's ok for the moment. we will wait and see.

White- 1998 Camaro SS
I have been having the same problem with code p1416 on my 98 SS. Im in the process of changing the air check valves hoping this will fix my problem. On the other hand I have noticed that my air pump would come on and off, on and off in a few second increments after cold startup. Sometimes during cold startup it will run consistently for a minute or two. Is this normal with the p1416 code and a bad air check valve or is this a problem with something more than the valve itself? Your responses would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
