Maiol in Tune to Dyno
Would getting a mail order PCM tune be fully compatiable to cystom dyno tune in the future? Anyone know of any good mail in tuners out there? I have heard real good things about mad z28. com.

yeah i have heard good things about him too, but its a lot. I mean if i wanted to spend $400+ i would just get a custom dyno tune. I am kinda thinking madz28.com they are only $225. But, thanks

White- 1999 Camaro Z28 Conv.
I went with Bryan at PCMFORLESS.COM on my Impala LT4 conversion project. His tune got my car running, then I picked up 16HP and 51TQ at the dyno after getting the timing and AFR dialed in.
I also tuned my 1999 Z28 myself a few weeks ago. Bone stock and I picked up 5HP by advancing the timing a half degree. I put a high flow filter on it, picked up another 3 HP but the AFR had gone rich. With proper AFR and high flow I'd probably see another 5 HP or so.
A mail order tune is only going to be so good. And if you ask the tuners they will tell you they have to go a little on the rich side of the fuel mixture and the conservative side for spark advance because every engine is different and they can't know how it will run. Too lean or too much timing will destroy an engine.
So, a mail order tune is great for getting you up and going, especially if you have done a lot of modifications the stock PCM cannot compensate for. But in the long run, you should get a good dyno tune with your mail order program as a foundation.
