Junkyard PCM--nothin..
What's up guys--haven't really spent any time in this corner of LS1 since I had to trade the t/a... my grandfather has a 2000 Cadillac Deville and the PCM has gone south in it. Car still runs fine, but doesn't recognize any sensors. Meaning it Gives you every warning...low coolant, security, etc every time its on; plus gas guage doesn't work. Dealer told him he needed new PCM, so my uncle got one from a same year deville; supposedly same type car ( I just moved here and wasn't around for that) and swapped the PCMs. Said the car wouldn't do anything with the others PCM installed. Wouldn't start; nothing. Reinstalled original PCM and car functioned as it had before the swap. I would like to know if there is an obvious reason for the car not to function with the replacement PCM--some sort of initialization or something we don't know to do--aside from the possibility of it just bein a faulty scrap yard PCM. I have no experience with PCMs so I wouldn't know the simplest answer--plz educate me guys!! (where you at Frost )

Arctic White & Black- '98 WS6 M6 - SWAPTIME!
(from GM - paraphrased)
Double check everything is hooked up and all the fuses are there/not blown
And then you have to reset everything... Transaxle fluid/oil life (to what it was before)
