    Idle, HP tuners question

i installed headers on my Z28 and now its running too "fast", just wondering what would i have to alter in HPtuners...I havent gotten my software yet but im just worried about driving my car now since its banging into gear and wanted to gather as much info as possible.

Any help is appreciated, thank you

I imagine he means that his car is idling too fast. Banging into gears would probably indicate that he has an automatic trans and it's probably idling at 900 RPM or higher vs. 600-800 RPM.

    Just a guess, though.

Are you the guy from another board who left a shop rag in the EGR port that vanished when the engine was cranked?

yep, stupid move...I removed the intake manifold to see if the rag was stuck in an intake port, but no luck. It must be lodged somewhere deep in the engine. It wasn't that thick of a rag and the car still runs but we have hear some engine noise. Is it possible to "run" and rip apart the rag with the engine or should I bring the car to someone to dismantle the engine?

go to engine>fueling>rag and set to disable.

You need to figure out where that rag is and get it out of there but I'm betting it's to late now and is distributed evenly throughout your engine.
