Angry Hypertech VIN Locked - Need Help!

    Hey Gang,
I bought a Hypertech 390752 from a guy on ebay. I go to program my car and the unit is vin locked. Hypertech wants $260 to unlock it. Is there anyone out there who knows how to unlock the programmer without sending it back to Hypertech. I'm currently trying to get my money back from the seller. Thanks for your help.

Get your money back. Hate when people do this. Sure it's the right unit? Went to their site and 390752 isn't a valid model number.

    Edit: Should be 30025

Actually, the guy is being really good about it. He agreed to refund my money. It is the right one though, its an older version. Says right on the box 99 LS1 Camaro and Firebird.

What the guy needs to do is take the programming off his car.....Hypertech will lock the program if the program has been installed on a car previously.....what he needs to do is plug it back on the car he programmed and select "return to stock"....i think that's the way it's named on those things.......after he's done that it should be good to go......

That sux. Might be an honest mistake-he may have gotten it without directions and not known to "Return to stock" before selling.
Maybe you can send it back and he can do such.
