hypertech gains?

i got stock 02 v6 firebird.. how muhc will the hypertech programmmer do for my 0-60,1/4 mile etc??

i have always heard hypertech was okay but to get dyno tuned if you want the best

I used a Hypertech PPIII on my LS1 T/A, and it definitely gave me a nice gain. I'd have to say around 15HP. However, if you plan on doing more mods, such as headers, MAF, TB, ect, you might not want to use Hypertech. Reason being that those mods change the A/F ratios and power curve of the engine, and therefore it needs to be re-tuned with a custom setup. The Hypertech tune could cause it to lean out or knock, since its set up for the stock engine.

Obviously thats for the V8, but I think the same principles would apply for the 3.8 V6.
