HPPIII Worth it?
Found a HPPIII handheld for $50. I only have SLP lid, smooth bellow, K&N air filter and 8.5mm msd superconductors (so nothing big). I have bigger plans down the road, but like most, money is tight and these plans aren't going to happen for a while. I know once I get the exhaust I want, I will need to get it properly tuned, but is the HPPIII worth picking up for $50 as a temp. tune?

Just my opinion but I wouldn't bother, especially with a M6 car. If you decide to try it anyway make sure the seller returned it to stock.

Thanks for the opinion, that's what I'm looking for. Naturally the website for it says 13hp/19tq gain on an automatic, wondering how much of a real gain it had and how much a M6 would have. I'm sure not a noticable change, but every little bit counts.
If it had the skip shift eliminator I would already have it. I guess it could be used for reading diagnostic codes.

If it's unlocked then that sounds like a good deal. If nothing else, the code reading portion will be helpful in the future.

Unlocked/returned to stock so can be used on another car, same thing. The HPP3 for my car I had years ago wouldn't read/clear codes.

it only good for if you change gears ratio and to change shift points on trans and have fans come on sooner and change rev limits with that say and done , a dnyo tune is needed after cam and injector and stalle change and it cost 300-500 bucks you do the math

If the programmer is meant for a 2002, would it work for my 01?
