Your gf's pancakes...? We need pics... How hard of a time are you having learning how to tune cause I've been considering purchasing hptuners as well?

take your a/c belt off and get your idle set where you like it, then put the belt back on and rause your a/c on idle up about 15-20rpms above a/c off

what size is your cam? I had to flip my set screw and open my blade up a little bit and then it's just working those air and timing tables.

makes me glad I went with the 220/224, I only had to turn my set screw in about a half turn......is there that much difference between mine and the 228/228?

well, mine wouldn't idle at all hardly until I gave it more air and rpm's.

I was actually very suprised that after the cam swap mine fired right up and idled cold......once it got alittle warm it wouldn't idle though......i did want you told me (added 2 across the idle air board) and bumped the idle speed up, then it idled fine

    It's a 230/230 .600/.600 @ 50

I think I have a vacuum leak, because I took the throttle cracker table down by half and it still sits at 2k untill I come to 0MPH. then it goes down to 900. I'm going to check it out this week. I was checking some of the histograms and I noticed on my knock retard some of the feilds had high numbers like 5's and 6's.

what does your cold idle look like? From start up to operating temp? Idling ok there? It's a process, you want to start at that idle and get it on then move to part throttle and cruising.

you also want to use those histograms for all of the idle tables.

Start up is fine. Sits at about 1100 for 10 or so seconds the drop down to between 900-950.

How do I add that in their? I know there are blank spots. Also where should my map be? It's at about 51-53 at idle

hey Orion, I read cam theroy over on tech and some in other places and still don't understand some cam aspects.....do you know where I could find a good "dumbed down" version to understand why for instance two very simular size cams can have such different operating ranges, and how your lift effects the cam( I know lift is how far the valve opens, but performance difference between say .525 and .580)

Well, I went and logged some miles today. Almost 9. First time driving it in months!! I *think* I got some good logs. WOT, idling, cruising, etc. Now I would like to post it somewhere, probably the only place is HPtuners? and see what people think.

Orion, you were correct about the wheel speed sensor. For the first time since I had the car the SES light came on.
[Brake] C0245 - Wheel Speed Sensor Frequency Error (History)
[Brake] U1016 - Loss of Class 2 Communication with VCM (History)

The Low trac light keeps coming on at low speeds and my brake pedal feels "spongey". The ABS and E brake light came on also. It has to to be something came loose when I bottomed out.

Anyways, Think it would be worth it for me to post my log on HPtuners? I was pretty excited to take my first long driving log, as cheesy as that sounds.

this is one of the best explanations I know of that's out there.

Click on like histogram number 8 which isn't used and then click the folder to the far left and your idle air desired is there. Then you can log from cold all the way up to temp and copy paste those numbers over. You'll have load up an idle .cfg in the scanner. I have to transfer it from my laptop and then I'll send it to you.

read through this thread....it's from when me and mrr23 were working on our tunes. I had just put the cam in and switched to hpt. Not a ton of good info there but some and will show you some pitfalls. There's also several good links in there.
