hitting 1-2 shift rev limit with predator
I have a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am auto with 3.73 gears.
I want to delay the shifts points under part throttle as the car shifts too early for my liking.
So I purchased the Diablo Predator U7198 tuner which allows this adjustment using the parameter UPSHIFT MPH vs TP.
I set the UPSHIFT MPH vs TP parameter to increase by 15% and it works fine; it shifts at around 3000 rpm from 1-2 in part throttle.
The problem I have is once I increase this parameter, the car bounces off the rev limit at WOT from 1-2.
I dont have any transmission slippage because when I reset the UPSHIFT MPH vs TP parameter the car shifts perfectly at WOT.
It just seems like this parameter is causing the problems and I dont know what to do.
The RPM shift points are set at 5900 at WOT, and Upshift MPH 1-2 is set at 39. I tried lowering these to 4000 rpm and 20 mph and still same problem; it hits rev limit at WOT. Again this is only when I delay the 1-2 shift under part throttle using the UPSHIFT MPH vs TP parameter.
Please some one help!!!Last edited by sbarin76; 04-23-2011 at 04:39 PM.

The car must meet the MPH requirement BEFORE the RPM requirement to shift; otherwise it'll just run to the limiter.
