    Gas Mileage Question.....

Curious what kind of mileage you guys get with your LS1's? I have lid, 80mm tb, bbk intake, predator tune, and flowmaster catback on an otherwise stock 02' M6.

I usually get 300+ miles between fill ups. 70/30 highway/local. Sound normal?

    Thanks,
    Jon

Are you doing the math, taking gallons pumped in and dividing into miles driven?

My wifes 2000 SS with the 6-speed, with headers and exhaust, LS6 intake, mild cam, 12 bolt with 3.73's, gets 21-22 mpg around town driving, and just a hair over 30 mpg highway.

I tuned it using a Speed Density tune, eliminated the MAF, turned on DFCO (the tables were lame), and did alot of part thottle cruising with the wideband to get that spot on.

I'm getting about 17 mpg with my 02 SS 6M. I like to run it when I can so 275 mi. to a tank is really pushing it. My wife's 04 GTO gets about the same because she drives the same. So 17 mpg is right if you like to have fun.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

Wow, you guys must have a light foot or never take it above 2 grand. Both my 98 Z28s get about 15 city with very light driving. Both M6. Just took one a 300mi on a road trip to Santa Barbara with only 1 WOT pull and I came up about 28mpg all highway. I thought that was good!

28 isn't bad, about right. You should be able to do 20 around town if you can do 28 highway.

Not really a light foot but I don't go hotroddin' it around constantly either. No need to wing it up in every gear. Most of the driving my wifes camaro see's is around town, and it gets 20+ consistently. Matter of fact just filled it last night and it got 20.56 with nothing but running around town here in 25-45mph speed limits and alot of stoplights. Shifting at 2,000 is enough to get moving, and most of the steady cruising is in 5th, and even 6th at times.

Alot of the youngins around here that hotrod will probably never see it though.

Never looked, but if I had to guess I get about 8MPG when my foot is in it. Probably close to 28 on the highway and 20ish in the city. Hard not to wind it up though.

Very hard not to wind em up! I also let my cars extensively 'warm up' until oil pressure is just about stable, so alot of run time is idling, makes sense to lower city mpg because of the shorter trips. None the less great fuel efficiency for the power.

My C5 Z06 is a bone stocker, no tune or anything. I'm getting 21 mpg around town, which is about identical to my wifes modified 2000 SS.
Haven't done any highway driving with the Z06 though so don't know about highway mpg. I'd be willing to bet after I tune the Z06 I'll pick up 2-3 mpg though, as I have accomplished that with any LS based vehicle after tuning.
