    diablo sport predator

I am looking at getting a diablo sport predator mainly for a scanning tool possibly a data logging tool I know a tune from frost is best as far as tunes go. But I didn't know if anyone had heard or if there was a big difference ordering the predator from slp. Because it says it comes with a specific tune but is about a 100 more

They have to cover the cost of their handheld, and for what it is, it's a nice piece. Most owners that have them keep them, even after full tuning to be able to read codes and monitor things. I don't think any that I have seen actually data log, but they display parameters in real time. This can be very useful if you know what to make of the data.

As far as the difference in included calibration from SLP to the normal unit, I have no idea.

You'll have to check with Diablo as to which ones data log. I know some older models can be upgraded for this.

and no need to get the slp versioned one... the tunes are better in the regular diablosport one anyway...

and yes, you're getting it brand new, so it will be able to save/record data logs...

yes, the one for the 99-02 gm gas vehicles (which is the one you need) does do real time data logging. the cool thing is even if it is locked to a certain vehicle, you can still read and clear codes, and data log on other vehicles as well. i still use mine on all the time on other people's vehicles.

be carefull , do you know what your doing ? i had one for each corvette, i owned.. best thing was set fans, to come on early !!, do away with skip shift.. etc. worst thing /set it too lean, took vette back to gm dealer and said vette has a miss ,at low speeds ? they found i set to lean and cooked spark plugs.. n/c/ put in all new plugs, and never did that again. i guess next step was a cooked piston ? rkvette

yeah, you want to do some data logging, of certain parameters, to see where your average LTFT's are at... (long term fuel trims)...

then adjust your injector slope accordingly to get the trims into the 0 to -2 range....

here's info on logging, what to log, how to make the adjustment, etc:
