Diable Tuner - Fuse keeps blowing
I recently purchased a Diablo Predator tuner for my 2000 Pontiac Trans Am.
I cant power the thing because of electrical problems with the diagnostics port. The problem is that everytime I put in a fuse in the cigar/accy fuse it blows.
I was told to disable any aftermarket items before powering the tuner. I have disabled an aftermarket fan cooling switch. The only other aftermarket item I have are gauges on the pillar and the fuse for the interior lights were also removed.
This did not solve the problem; as soon as I put in a new 25A fuse it sparks and blows so I cant get power to the diagnositc port and cant use the Tuner as a result. So Frustrating!
Please help; I want to use the Diablo!

that fuse powers up the cigar lighter and aux power outlet also. Did you check those 2 things for shorts? I often find coins inside the power outlets/cigar lighters.

Is it actually blowing right away with a visual spark upon installing the fuse indicating a dead short?

Is the fuse only blowing if you plug in the tuner? If not the fan switch and the gauge pod are working normally that's probably not the issue. My guess would be a short in the cig lighter/wiring itself, or something tapped into it. The DLC port and lighter have power all the time (not switched) so anything tapped into the circuit and shorting will blow the fuse. I have a gauge pod and SLP fan switch in my car and use a predator without any issues. Sorry not much help.
