You definately don't need, or want, bigger injectors. You need to have an engine that calls for MUCH more fuel to warrent going bigger.

well i got it scanned again today after swapping the #5 injector with the #7 injector. it said i had 1500 and sum misses on seven and 36 on 5 on the history so i cleared the history and started the car and let her run for a bit and they never showed back up. last time i was checking everything it would come up right away as a miss fire. so u would think i should be good right?

You were supposed to swap number 7 injector with another one because number 7 was missing....

i kinda of read was going on but I have to agree with the rest why go to the other items when they are not the initial issue? You already swap out the cable, coil and plug and it was still showing #7. That's how you know those items are good. The guys are making you check all the stuff that is easy and accesible 1st before you get to bent push rods, etc. trust me listen to Cutlass and the others helping you they will get you fixed.

Are you sure you didn't swap 7 and 5 like you were told, instead of 8 and 5? The misses you are getting sound like the problem followed the injector.

sorry i ment to say 7
first i changed the spark plug wire that didnt help
next i changed the spark plug still nothing
next it was the coil i changed that still not helpin
then i changed the injector now no code

keep in mind that i just took everything from five and put it in seven and kept scanning as i went i didnt buy any new parts i didnt take off the valve cover i was just wondering about that in case it was the next thing i had to do

im sure i know what cylnder is what.. its just weird that it never came back after we cleared it last time it was back right away this time nothing came back maybe it was just a dirty injector.

Didn't you read what you wrote? You said you changed the #8 injector after telling us #7 was bad. If that was a mis-type, that's understandable.

So to clarify, you swapped the #7 and #5 injectors, cleared the history, and you are now showing no missus or other codes? If that's the case, you could have had a lose injector plug or maybe the injector wasn't seated properly. Keep an eye on it, and if you get codes again, it's time to replace that one injector.

    ...and remember to than Cutlass

98 and 99 look a little different from the 2002 pic PaJeff posted. There is a pic in there of the 99 system.
