you think that would have something to do with the slight loss in power

not sure.....I'm wondering if the slight loss in power might be in your head. Seriously though, read the codes again as now I'm curious what they are.

yes. if the computer doesn't know whats going on with a sensor like the TPS, its a good possibility it could go into a safe/reduced power type mode

good luck....it's just a matter of trouble shooting everything and figuring out what direction you need to take. Buying a modded car is always a huge gamble because you really don't know what you're getting. Do you have any way of talking to the prior owner? He could maybe save you a bunch of time and headache by filling in the gaps.

Testing sensors isn't that big of a job. I had to go through it on my Jeep for the first time, and once you find a cheat sheet, it's pretty easy. Just find out what the range of the sensor should be, and watch the meter.

You could swap the #7 injector with another one and see if the misfire follows.

They could be other problems that could cause a #7 misfire. The computer just knows its misfiring, it doesn't know if the plug is bad or the valves or pushrods are bent

It's a possiblility, but try the injector first. More importantly, just do everything Cutlass says and you'll be alright

is there a way to tell if its a push rod or a valve without taking off the valve cover? are the valve cover gaskets ever reusable?

Why do you always go for the hard stuff first? Did you try switching the injectors?

To answer teh question, yes the gaskets in most cases could be re-used. If you had a pushrod or valve, you would most likely hear it.

Try the injector before going inside.

It's very unlikely your fuel pump is causing a mis-fire in one cylinder. More than likely an injector, bad plug, bad wire, bad coil, or bad connector for coil.

You can go bigger on the stock pump, but keep in mind, you will need programming. Also, depending on your mods, it probably isn't neccasary. You are better off replacing one bad injector, then going all out when mods require it.
