can i drive to get a tune after heads & cam?
i apologize if this has been went ove before. i want to replace my heads and cam, and i know i will need a tune after that. my question is this; the only place i know to get it tuned at is about an hour and a half away. is it safe to drive it that far after the r&r? any tips on that or the replacement would be appreciated. also, what are the best heads to get for an ls1? i heard trickflow or AFR. or should i just go with some ls6 heads?

depending on the cam, it will drive, but might be difficult to stay running at idle. just have to do the two foot drive.
AFR are my first choice.Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

complete heads come with valves, springs, retainers, and valve locks. you get your own pushrods and rockers

If price is a big issue then go to the WS6store.com and check out there line of patriot heads. Great heads for the money. Just be sure to do your research and get a head and cam combo that fits exactly what you want to do with the car and you will be fine with the patriots.

just make sure its not running to rich. if it is you could wash out your rings. just keep an eye on the oil and smell it to make sure there is no gas in it. i have seen it happen. mine was to rich but they where all cam only cars so it may be differant.

running rich like that will ruin spark plugs and O2 sensors though at a minimum. It won't take near as long as you might think either.
