Will a 3rd gen 12 Bolt fit on my 01 z28 ???

Local guy has a decent deal on a 12 bolt beefed up with richmond gears and tubing bracing etc. it has drum brakes on the rear atm. What would be required to fit this on my 01? My diff is dying and I want a working lsd for the winter and a 12 bolt isnt too bad of an idea.

It will fit fine if the housing was fabed for a 3rd gen F-body and was installed normally meaning useing factory mounts and locations. Only problem is getting rid of those drums. You have ABS? if so the ABS wont work. If I remember right changging from a drum to a disk is a PAIN IN THE ASS. you might have to change adapter plates at the end of the tubes which means pulling axle's and either fabing something up or cutting them off and welding correct ones in.

The abs wont work probably. You will have to pull the backing plates off and put on the ones for the 4th gen so you can keep the disc brakes. I would make sure the housing is the same width first. 3rd gen and 4th gen had different offset wheels.
