    First off God dammit!

Secondly, I DIDNT KNOW THEY MADE 3.90s! I wouldve went to that vs. 3.73s. I noticed a small difference in acceleration and decrease in mpg. But 3.90s woulda been perfect for me.

4.10's!!!!! I have 4.11's in a 9" behind an auto and I wouldn't do anything less even thoug mine was driven 100 miles a day every weekend. LS1's love to rev if they are built to rev of course. spin it past 6800 you'll be looking for another

My friend had a guy install 4.10's on his 94 GT and he said the mechanic told him to bring the car back if the rear whined. I'll have to look him up in the spring.
I won't be doing any drag racing and I'll be sticking to street tires, so things should be ok I hope.

I got the motive gear 4.10's (plain boxed Richmonds brand I believe) and love them, I originally had the 4.11's for about a day but the whine was rediculous, my 4.10's are totally quiet with no whine what so ever

I'm pretty sure I'll be going with 4.10's. I just hope they're quiet. This thread alone has given me enough mixed reviews on the nose they make.
I don't think my TA will be seeing 6800, thats just asking for trouble. I've never even thought of going past 6k

the only reason a gear set will make noisis if set up improperly also the f bodys have a tendancy to b noisy bcause of the torque arm it is like a loud speaker noise travels to reduce noise stay w a rubber trans mount and torque arm bushing there is no ather way around it go with a good gear set some companys doubble cut their gears and they dont mesch right and they are very hard to get a good contact pattern with them .

Also, do you guys think my max MPH in each gear will go higher or lower?
Right now (3.42's) it's pretty much like this:
    1st......40
    2nd.....70
    3rd.....100
    4th.....~125
    5th.....165?
    6th.....165?

Even well set up 4:10's will whine in time. These rears are so weak that the gears will shift even if perfectly setup and begin to whine. An 8.8" ford and our rears can't be compared. The Ford rear is much easier to setup and will stay quiet.

Motives are not Richmonds. Richmonds whine like no other. Motives are noisy too but better than Ritchmond. If you do go with 4:10's get real GM gears. They are expensive but are stronger and quieter than anything in the aftermarket. How many miles do you have on your 4:10's?

Im getting a set of 4.10's. A friend of mine has an M6 TA also but he put 3.73's in it and it just does not do the job as well as the 4.10s do.. I would recommend a set of Motive gears or Richmonds.. Beware tho if you put richmonds in they will wine.. New or not.. Thats just how they roll. No pun intended lol

My friend's mechanic told him to bring his mustang back if they made any noise and it was only $200. I think i'll get the motives and call that guy in the spring.
The fluids should get changed after the install and after breakin (500 miles) right?

I run 4.10's and loved them on the street. Still got 18-20 around town and about 20-22 on the highway with a cam, headers, T/B and a shit load other mods.

what kind of improvements have you guys seen at the track after installing 4.10s? I know they will cause the tires to spin more (cuz i will have street tires and a stock rear end) but once you hit second, everything should be alright, right?

In my last car I wish I never did em, and did not do them in my current one. On the street they are awesome, but at the track they are horrible to launch. I ran Nitto drags and could not hook up for shit. They would spin all the way through third if you didn't pedal it. On F1's I could spin all the way through 4th. I broke 3 sets of gears on the Nittos so obviously could not run an ET street or even a BFG drag radial. My buddies with similar mods and stock gears consisently ran quicker at the track. I learned an important lesson. Don't do 4:10's in a 10 bolt.
