vibration when i take off
i have a vibration problem in my car when i take off, and even when i'm puttin my foot through the floor. the vibration only comes around 1600 and 2000 rpm on normal take off. but when i put my foot through the floor the vibration starts at 3000 to 3700 rpm. yesterday i was sitting in the parking lot at my shop, i had the car in park and gave it a little gas. it seems to me that it starts at the motor and then works its way back through the floor. could something be lose at the motor mounts? or through the drivetrain?
thanks
Daniel

Just taking a guess here:
If the vibration occurs without the vehicle in gear, then I would look at a possible warped crank or possible bent rods.
If it occurs with the vehicle in gear and/or moving, then I would look at maybe bend u-joint on the drive shaft or possibly a transmission or rear end issue but, I'm just guessing.
I looked at your post but, hard to tell if you were describing being in park or in gear.
Define what mode you are in and I'll try to help best I can.

Okay, I re-read your post and it seems it doesn't matter if its in motion or in park.
Maybe mounts or maybe a crank but, when the motor resonates (steady state rpm), you can feel it in the gas pedal. When you go faster or slower, it smooths out caused by a flux in the rpm.
Jet engines are the same way. When the jet engine resonates at an idle, it sounds like droning noise. Vibration is at its highest at that point and sometimes sounds like tennis shoes in a dryer. It will stop if the jet engine is put into somewhere around 55-65%. Then when the engine is put back in idle, the droning and vibration will normally return. In this case, a wet rig is performed on the N1 and N2 spool and then the operating rpm is adjusted. Kinda like re-timing a car motor.
A car's crank shaft will also resonate. If the rpm is too low, the resonating gets worse. Especially if the timing is off.
I would first check your timing before suspecting anything bent etc.Last edited by BIG GUNS; 01-10-2009 at 11:28 AM. Reason: corrected text

As soon as I replaced my transmission mount with a poly one mine started doing it. Right about from 1500-2700rpm
