    Used 12 bolt?

I know this will be a gamble, but what is you guys' opinion on buying a used Moser 12 bolt? I found one on Ebay for 2100 OBO comes with everything I need and will be bolt in and easy. I am going to offer 1500 and see what they counteroffer. I know it's a gamble buying used parts but I am a cheapass so I like to see what I can find before I go new. Plus the one in question comes with UMI LCAs, Panhard bar and torque arm. If I can get it for 1800$ Ill probably get it as long as they will take a return on it if it doesn't work. Or should I buy new? Any input appreciated.

As the owner of a Moser 12 bolt, I would be concerned about whether or not it whines or leaks. You need to see what the back lash is and if it runs true -- can do this with a dial indicator.

2100 is not a good price... you can get one NEW for 2,400 or so...

Depends on how it is optioned. With 33 spline axles, True Trac, 4 channel ABS, welded sway bar brackets, and welded relocation brackets, mine was $2,800 in bare steel, including shipping.

yeah... like you said offer 1500 but if you can get it for 1800 you'll make out pretty good... ask him if a shorter drive shaft is needed and if so if it will come with one...

I went with a shorter d/s from PST in ours. The damper was only about 5/8" from the transmission tailstock when I test fit the stock d/s.
