Is this is Trans Breaking or the 10 bolt.
Well I was driving back from a car show today and hit a 1-2 and heard a pop. I pulled off to the side of the road because I couldnt move anywhere and I figured it was the 10 bolt that broke (I was driving on drag lites and radials.) I was trying to diagnose the problem real quick and I noticed that when it was in gear and I was trying to move the drive shaft wasnt moving at all or only very slightly. When I hit the shift it did feel like something gave out in the trans but its a rebuild with only 2,000 mi on it.
Its a tick level 2 trans with a viper second gear. Clutch is a monster stage 3. It still goes in all of the gears as well when the car is on or off
I am gonna jack it up tomorrow to get a look at it but is there anything I can do to diagnose or check to figure out if I need to send the trans back or not

it sounds like the trans/clutch to me if the driveshaft isn't or is barley moving and the car will not move forward then the rear sounds like its fine! if the rear went it would probably allow the driveshaft to spin but could possibly make tons of noise!

I cant believe the trans broke or the clutch (for the second time) broke before the 10 bolt.

Sounds like something with the output shaft of the tranny. If you can still shift it into all the gears, that would indicate the clutch is ok. If the rear was locked up, keeping the driveshaft from spinning, the car would simply stall out. I'd put my guess in something related to the output of the tranny.

You pretty much did check it. You could remove the tranny, and check to see if the input and output shafts spin. Before that, you could leave the tranny in gear while the car is off, and see if you can spin the driveshaft - disconnected from the rear diff.

get her up on a lift and take cover off and look around for damage it will prolly be pretty obvious if the rear went south. Did tick rebuild it or did you?

I had the same problem in my old camaro, it was my clutch for me. Some how my throw out bearing was spinning free so when I put it in any gear it wouldn't do anything and the driveshaft wouldn't move. So is check that out. It sucks but its not to expensive.
