    Too Much Debate!!!

I need a straight answer!!! Every mod that I have done to my Trans Am is in my signature. I am thinking about going to 3.73 gears because I am an automatic. I already have 3.23 performance axle i have heard many different opinions about going with the 3.73. I just want a final answer to make my decision. The trans am is my daily driver. Will I feel a difference with the 3.73 gears? Or is it not worth the money??? I read so many threads from people saying i will feel a difference and they love them and then i read other threads saying the opposite. I'm going crazy Help me sort this crap out! Thanks!

but yea do it. if you continue to mod your car you will be happy with the 3.73. and as ed is trying to elude to..you NEED a stall up in that biznatch! you will def feel the diff with a stall alone...plus the gears you will wet yourself. if i had a choice tho..i'd go for the stall first.

What size stall do you suggest? It is my daily driver so i don't want anything too drastic just something to put me back in the seat a little more. Also are they hard to install and where should I buy one?

Personally im about to go with a Yank or a Fuddle, and it looks like Fuddle is a sponser so just click on it and I bet you can buy one there. As for the question...Just think about what you would be gaining and what you would be losing. The gain is going to be from a dead stop is where your going to notice the difference, your top end will not be there like it was. Punching it from a roll with 3.73s in an a4 kind of sucks. So as a dd go with a stall, that is going to be your best bet and keep your stock gears in for now. I have an a4 and experenced no gains with 3.73s...my 60' got better but my trap speed went down and no change in my 1/4 mile times...I think its hit or miss. Right now im in the transformation of going back to my stock 3.23s and putting in a stall and I highly recomend going in that direction !

why does it suck punching it from a stop with 3.73 gears? and i think i am just going to go with the 3.73 gears because my rear end is leaking alot more then it has for a long time so i might as well get the seals changed as well. so a stall will probably have to wait. any more comments or suggestions would be appreciated.~Chris

so just let the rear end go out then i will be stuck with nothing? i'm gonna go with gears first so that i can get the leak under control. it's not gonna hinder me it is gonna help.

your rear end always leaks..but if it is starting to leak more..then it is probbally due to flexing ..which causes rear end failure in almost all 10 bolts. so it really doesnt matter. your rear will go with the gears..um it "sucks" punching it with gears because traction is harder to come by..unless you have a nasty suspension setup. trust me, 98t/a, and ed...get the stall first.
