    Tfp switch data wrong

I have a 98 Trans am that I bought with a bad tranny, I just got it rebuilt and it shifts fine but the mech used his scann tool on it and the PCM is giving the wrong info for the transmission fluid pressure switch and he is thinking that my PCM may be bad and is afraid it may burn the tramny out eventually, is anyone familiar with this issue

Yea that guy blew out the PCM fuse when he swap those PCM's around and then when he install the fuel pump he plug the power wire wrong so the pump was coming on but not with enough juice to get the gas pumping, it's always best to try to do your own work whenever possible!

Good deal. So the TFP switch isn't throwing a code?

I would almost be inclined to try putting a new switch in and see if that clears it up, or take it to a different mechanic for a second opinion. Anything special about the tranny rebuild?

No nothing special about the rebuild and it was doing this before the rebuild so that switch was confirmed good but still was replaced with a new one for good measures and I'm having trouble finding someone I can trust and that is familiar with this situation that's y I'm here trying to get all the help I can get to figure this thing out

I've never heard of this issue before. I don't understand how it can even be an issue really but then again I'm not a tranny builder. I would definitely want a second opinion before I just started junking parts. The pcm commands line pressure and the pump in the tranny actually builds the pressure. There are codes for 6 different pressure switches (a-f) and if none of those codes are being set I would think the pressure is fine.
