I would start with the following as a tune-up:

    -Wires ~ MSD
    -Plugs ~ NGK TR55
    -Air filter
    -Fuel filter
    -Clean the MAF
    -Change the oil

In the Hayne's manual for 1996-2000 it says every 30,000 miles or 24 months, whichever comes first.

when mine snapped it made a clunking/scraping kind of sound... you'll be able to see if it snapped if you jack the rear up a little... it's not uncommon for the stockers to break...

I would really watch the slp maf you have, they give alot of our cars issues. try the stock one and see if the car acts different after it relearns the stocker.

This is true..but he says he has been tuned..so I would hope that his tune is now calibrated for the slp maf

I've just read Frost saying that they do not stay consistant in many posts (even after tuning) and suffered lean codes on my own to never trust the pos again.

Its more of a popping sound than a clunk or a scrape. Happens when the engine gets into the power. It might just be backfiring though I'm like deaf from the car. Ill change the plugs and see wat happens

so driving my car some more im beginning to lean toward the torque arm theory. as i listened closely it doesnt really sound like backfiring from a crapped out spark plug. i got a bunch of this rattle when i turned the corner really fast. wat does the torque arm look like and roughly where is it located?
