    SLP Lid Problems!!!

Just got my SLP lid and im thinking i wasted my money, it doesnt seal all the way around. Has anybody had this problem before and if so how do i fix it? or should i just relocate this piece of junk in the dumpster, and get a different type of lid? if so what brand.

All Lids have a weird fitment problem. To be honest, the SLP has the best fit. I've never had a problem with the SLP fitting, I've installed a lot of them. I use a LS1 Motorsports lid and trust me, it's PITA to fit

do you have any tricks to get them to fit right? the front clips keep coming loose and the tabs in the back dont stay in the slots that well.

I just had my SLP Lid replaced with an MTI lid. SLP lid everytime I had to take it off to clean my air filter, had a PITA time getting it to seal right, and it finally broke one of the little forks trying to get it back on. Didn't have any trouble getting my MTI one on. (shrug) just seems to be hit or miss perhaps.

Really no tricks, just keep on working at it. Do you have the stock bellows? Sometimes it is easier to attack the bellows to the lid first, then trying to fit it into it when its on the TB. Just make sure its all the way in either way you do it.

I just got one of the newly designed slp lids and it fits rather well. I'm surprised they didn't do a better job in the front to hold the clips down. the rest is fine I've checked for any dirt that could slip through and it was cleaner than my stock lid ever was.

I can't even get the tabs to stay locked on my stock lid.

mine came with a piece of foam with tape on the back. it stated in the directiond to be sure to install the foam or it would not seal. go to home depot and buy some wheather stripping for your household door, it should work fine.

Most fitment problems with an SLP lid are from not getting it rearward far enough. The front lip on the lid must go inside the front lip on the airbox. Just keep working it rearward and it will probably fit and seal fine, and the clips will stay where they are supposed to. Good luck.

if you take the lip on the slp box and put it behind the lower air box lip the clips well not pop off and the ait box well seal better

my lid did the same thing. But I read this thread and it helped me a lot. Now I have no issues. Sometime you just need to play with it to make it work.
