A4 you should prol go with a stall and tranny cooler along with some 3.73 gears. Best upgrade for you is to slap a stall in the 3200 range on there to maximize the benefits of the new gears.

I wouldn't go with 4.10's in an A4 car unless you are only using it for the track. Its just too much gear for daily driving, your fuel economy will go to hell and you'll be turning some ridiculous RPM's in 4th gear, especially on the highway.

I'd reccommend going with 3.73's, getting a stall converter, and installing a trans cooler. That will net you a nice performance gain.

4.10s will make one hell of a diff. M6 cars are harder to launch with 4.10s, but once you get rolling they are more fun. 2 problems however. 1. You will eat a ton of gas with them. 2. They tend to break stock 10 bolts if launched improperly or with sticky tires. They have smaller teeth, thus you will be looking for a 12 bolt or 9 inch in the future.

yeah im not worried about the gas mileage.....im also pretty much counting on the 10 bolt breaking in the future so i guess if it breaks ill have to fix it. ive never really priced a 12 bolt or a 9 inch........how much do they usually run?

if you use you car as a daily driver 4.10's will heat up especially with freeway driving.. and once they heat up and cool off enough they become brittle ass glass.. and it will happen faster than you think so be careful.. i have 3.73's and they made a hell of a diff. plus 4.10's would make your first gear pretty short but definetly interesting

oh btw i jus did a moser 12 on mine..... roughly $2400 cuz i got mine optioned out.and $600-$800 for installation if your not feelin puttin it in.. be ready to do some cutting on you tq arm if its aftermarket.. there are a second set of holes on the rear mount you'll have to switch too but your gonna have to cut the firs set off... and a slight fabrication of new brackets for your sway bar.. and dont expect any mounts for brake lines.. and theres a bracket for your parking brake the is bolted in with the traction bars.. the firs 3/4 inches of the bracket on the inside of trac bar has to be cut so it sits flush.. sorry for the novel but i figured you should know whats comin cuz its not a "direct bolt in".. i learned the hard way

I went with 4:10's in my WS.6. They made the car a bitch to launch and it would break a set of gears every few months on Nittos. From a roll it was a beast but from a stop they never helped me at all and stickier tires were definately not an option if Nittos were breaking gears. From now on I will never do a gear swap in a 7.5" 10 bolt ever again. Save for the 12 bolt, then get the gears. My buddies with 3:42's and similar mods were consistently faster than me because my car couldn't hook for shit. As for gas mileage I really didn't notice much of a difference. With the 6 speed the gas mileage doesn't suffer much at all.

If your car is a 6 speed, then you have 3.42's stock, not 3.23's. Only the automatic SS/WS6 cars came with 3.23's, all the 6 speed cars came with 3.42 gears, regardless of option packages
