A Moser built the way I want it is almost $3800+. I'm getting the MWC built for about $3400. Thanks for the input.

Who'd you get the pricing on the Moser from?

with mwc you get other things that the others don't offer. The main one is a tq arm.

What can I say I have expensive taste. I did all the pricing on their website. It was built identical to the one I'm getting from MWC, but it didn't come with the torque arm. If I went with the standard housing I'm sure it would be considerably cheaper.

Did you do the fab'd housing or the standard one?

Why do you need a fab'd housing with your HP/TQ goals? You are throwing money away that can be used for other mods IMO.

I want the fab'd 9 because its considerably lighter than the standard housing not because its stronger. At least thats what I've been told or not so much? For my HP/TQ the 9" is already overkill, I'm pretty sure I could go with a 12 bolt and never break it.

For the HP or suspension work you can throw at the car with another 1K, the weight savings will probably benefit you less.

I am pretty sure the AL housing is as just as strong as the standard housing. That is why it is so much larger than the standard housing, to make up for the strength in material difference.

Do you know the actual weight difference between the two?

I've seen the fab'd one in person. It was a monster.

I'm also pretty sure you'd need a new sway bar to clear that fab'd housing. I'm not sure if even the relocation for the OEM sway bar would clear it. The thing was massive.

Lol why did you have to say that. Now I'm even more torn on what to get. I do not know the actual weight difference is I was just told it was considerable. Looks like I'm gonna have to do more research tho. I'm not into throwing $2-3k on something I'm gonna second guess.

I'm interested in knowing also. I'm not 100% positive, I'm just going by what I've seen in person at a shop that installs Moser rear ends professionally. They had one there when I went to go pick mine up.

It looked like something you'd see on a 2000 HP truck

Alright I just went to mosers site and built 9" with the standard housing and it came out to $3215 with hardly any options. Then I still need to get a adj. torque arm. How the hell did you get yours for $2600?

I didn't buy it from Moser...

Contact Bob at Brute Speed and see what he can do for you.

Again, I bought mine 2 years ago. Prices might have went up.

Not too much. But I paid for a few extra options too. What really sold me was the time difference. I had my Moser in just over a week. MWC wanted at least 8 weeks.

So I got on Brute Speeds website and priced out one of their 9's. Came out to just over $2700 and it supposedly ships in 4 days. Tell me what you guys think about this build. Standard housing, Truetrac diff, 3.75 gears, Nodular center, oem studs, standard length, 4 channel with reluctor rings, swaybar brackets, LCA relocation brackets, and drain plug. Quick question though. Would I be able to tuck wider tires if I got a narrowed housing or would that make my tires rub on the inner fender?

Do I get a cut of that savings?

I believe people who have the standard length housing run wider tires. Someone else will chime in though.

Sounds like you have all the options in place that you need though!
