Rear with out ABS
I'm planning to do a 9" Ford in 02 TA, and I'm thinking about leaving the ABS out. This car is a weekend strip runner, and cruiser and so being a daily driver is nothing to worry about( I won't be driving in the rain). Can I just diconnect the wires and run it as is,or do I need a ABS delete Kit, for the brakes to work properly. This is a M6 so I'm running 3.89 gears.I really don't want to have to put exciter rings (reluctor wheels)on.I know the warning light will be on so I need to delete that.If anybody has done this I would love to hear from ya!

You do not need the ABS delete kit. BTW if you have traction control and you do not hook up the wheel speed sensor, the traction control will not work either.
When you install the 9", you may want to keep the sensor in the backing plate. If you leave it out, there will be a sizable opening left un covered. If you do not drive in bad weather at all, no big deal.
Also, when you are doing the 9" swap, you will need to take the OE diff apart to salvage your backing plates. Be advised, you will need to remove the sensors in order to give the axles enough inward movement to release the C-locks.
Good luck with your project.

Thanks for the info. I still may do the ABS Delete Kit later on just to lose some weight, and make some room in engine bay.

If you do put the sensors back in, be carefull. Mine were slightly oblong. I had to rotate them clockwise & counter clockwise and they were still a tight fit.

Well the 9" is in and there were some issues but nothing to be a headache. The senors didn't fit and the Torq. arm needed a tiny bit of grinding. The sway bar needed
3" clamps so it can be mounted on the axle. I also needed a new universal joint, and new lug nuts( I ordered racing axles)longer studs.
