    Rear or Gears?

I have a 98 formula with about 120,000 miles on the stock rearend. My codes read GU2 which I believe are 2.73's... So I know that I'm being robbed at the low-end...

So my question is would you guys encourage putting in some better gears, or just wait till the stock one is shot and replace it with a stronger rear-end all together?

Has anyone done a gear swap with as many miles as me?...

    Thanks for looking.....

Check around here, everywhere. Save your money and put it towards a 9"... maybe a 12 bolt

Dont dump money into that 10 bolt.

I would wait and just upgrade the entire rear. My thought process, eventually the 10 bolt is gonna blow, so why throw any money away on it. If you spend $200 on new gears and then $$$$ for install, thats money down the toilet if/when the 10 bolt blows. That same money could have put you closer towards an upgraded rearend.

Yes absolutely, Rule of thumb is to upgrade and not rebuild with the POS 10 bolt

A stronger rearend is always the better option, but I might not pass over a cheap used 10 bolt rearend with 3.42s or something if you want a quick cheap (possiblly temporary) upgrade. Honestly a 10 bolt is fine for a mostly stock automatic LS1.

If your an auto then you can maybe get by with a used 10 bolt as some said, but it may only be temporary.
I invested in a moser 9 inch, couldn't be happier with it.
