Rear End Rebuild Advice

I'm about to install some new gears in the rear end of my Trans Am (yeah, I know. "get a 9 inch," etc.), and I need some advice on a problem I've had in the past. Yes, I'm aware that this is probably a pretty silly question.

On two other 10-bolt installs I've done (different cars), I've had a problem with the cross-shaft bolt. In both cases, the bolt has worked itself loose, and the rear end grenaded. In the first case, I torqued it pretty hard, by feel (came loose within a day). The second install, I torqued it to GM service manual specs (came loose after 30,000 miles).

Both installs worked without a problem, except for that damn bolt. Now that I'm about to do the install on my Trans Am, I'm just a little afraid of the same problem. Are there any tricks I'm missing, to ensure that the one stupid bolt that holds the entire thing together stays in place?

I doubt this is any wonderful trick that is guaranteed to work, but maybe try some locktite.
