    Rear End Noise?

    Hey everyone,

I've had my '98 Z28 for about 9 months now and it just rolled over 70,000 miles. Its an A4 LS1. For about the past 5 months i've been noticing a really strange noise before it gets a good warm up. I mainly hear it when coming to a complete stop and accelerating, particularly up hills and on turns. Its some sort of clunking noise and I think its coming from the "rear". I had my rear end fluid changed like 2 months ago, but the noise is still there...Does anyone recognize my problem?

    Thanks..
    Evan

Mine is starting to do that as well, but mostly when coming to a stop. It feels like the rear is clunking or bottoming out the suspension. I was told it may be shocks, so that's going to be what I do next. I made sure all my suspension parts were tight first by the way. Good luck!

u-joints is where I would start....and then since the drive shaft is out, go buy the GM special spline lube and lube the drive shaft splines. Also rear differential fluid change may be in your future!
