Rear end noise
I have a noise coming from the rear end thats more predominate on the passenger side that sounds like brakes grinding. The noise speeds up with the speed of the car coasting or giving gas. It also doesn't change while going around curves. It's still quiet enough that the radio has to be off to hear it but I'm not ready to buy a new rear either so I need to take care of this 10 bolt for a while. The brakes are fine and not rubbing and the car still acts normal. With all of that said I (not the smartest rear-end guy) believe it sounds like an axle bearing to me but I wanted some opinions before I go get my hands dirty or fork over loads of $$$$ for a mechanic.

It sounds like it could be the Carrier Bearing in the rear differential. You have 2 of them. Mine went bad on the passenger side as well...not a big deal. The most difficult part is removing the bearing off the assembly if you don't have a bearing puller ...which I didn't.

My buddy said I might be able to take the axles to a garage and have the bearings removed or I can just take it to a garage for all of it done. To have the rear end bearings and such replaced costs about the same as having new gears put in so I might go ahead and change those as well
