Get it clean. Red RTV the gasket to the cover. Let it dry. Apply a small bead around the otherside then get it snug all the way around and let it get tacky. Since your not using the stock gasket etc 22ftlbs is probably too much.

I actualy dont use the red rtv for anything, i always use the black. I think your the one in a million that actualy had a problem...
