Rear end gears?
I have a 98 LS1 Trans Am Conv. I believe that it came with 3:23 gears, is this correct? I bought two sets of gears along with some other things from this guy. One set is 3:73 and the other set is 4:11's. If I have the 3:23's what would be the set of gears to try? Also what gears come on the WS6's?
Thanks, Jeff

look on your RPO sticker on the door jam, if it reads GU5 then it has 3.23's and if its GU6 then its 3.42's found on the 6 speed cars. and GU3 is 2.73 gears

Gu1 : Axle Rear, 2.41 Ratio
Gu2 : Axle Rear, 2.73 Ratio
Gu4 : Axle Rear, 3.08 Ratio
Gu5 : Axle Rear, 3.23 Ratio
Gu6 : Axle Rear, 3.42 Ratio

back to the orj. question, go with the 3.73's the 4.11's would be like redline at cruzing speeds on the highway, you'll probably be around 2.5-3k at 70 with the 3.73's in there just a guess
