Rear end
Hey guys I need some help.
I had the rear end rebuild bout 2000 miles on my ss m6
Since it was fixed it makes some kinda noise.
I heard it could be normal.
I have 3.73s
Now my question is.
Since a few miles ago. I could feel some small
Vibrations when I hit the gas.
Today when my car was parked.
I was trayin to make some movement on the tire just to see what I could see.
And I noticed that when I do that the tire/axle it's kinda lose and makes some noise. I dnt if it's Normal.
Nothin to big but I dnt think it's Safe.
What u guys think?
I hope you guys can read this. Sorry for not knowin how to explain it well.

Loose as in you can move the wheel in and out, or it wiggles around its circumference?

The noise gets louder everytime.
And every time I step on the gas I feel something spinnig on the rear end. I could feel the power on the motor but on the rear end nothing happens.
And lately I feel like something is hiting on the rear end cover.
Today I'm gonna drain the oil and see what I can find.
It's loose like it goes in and out.
Not to much I don't knw if it's normal but my biggest concern is the noise.

I think I would stop trying to drive the car -- something has definitely come unglued in the rear.

U think I should stop driving it?
What's the worst thing cab happen if I keep drivin it?
And that only feels on the drivers side tire.
I thought something was lose on the suspension. I cheked everything down there. And I didn't see nothing wrong.
So next step is remove the cover take the tires off n see what I can find.
I never had problems with the rear end on my 98 z

Welcome to my world. I'd take it back to that shop and tell them to man up and fix their mistake. Seems like it won't ever stop.

The last thing I want Is hurt some 1.
I better take it to the shop and get it fix.
The problem is that the guy that fixed it. Did it out of the shop.
So I can't go to the shop and get the fixed by the warranty.

Depending upon what is going bad inside the rear... it's possible that the whole axle can pull out and go bounding down the road attached to the wheel. I have seen it happen before -- s c a r y !

I'm a start workin on it right now.
So what's is jacked up on the stands, should I try pull out the axles n if nothin happened is save right?
The only thing that holds the axle inside it's a very time metal piece.

You unbolt and slide out the spacer and remove the c-clip that retains the axle:

If the c-clip is bolt on place it means is safe right?
What I'm expecting to see is broken pices of ring.
That was the problem before the rebulib.

You should probably pull the axle to check where the bearing rides.

I feel your pain, bro. My rear ran great and then I hit 2nd really hard and split the posi. Sounded like a grumbling in the rear and then sounded like ball bearings bouncing around. When I pulled the cover off I found broken teeth to the pinion and ring gears and a split posi.

That really sux bro.
I still have the old ring and pinion from last time when it got rebuild.
The pinion broke in half. Ill post some pix tomorow
It really sucks how this F-body rear ends break really easy.
I been thinkin' bout buying a better rear end the price is kinda high for me.

+1 I can feel you there. At our age a couple G's doesn't come all that easy. I wanted a moser 9" for my Camaro and I will get one. I just don't have it right now.
