Rear END

This is a discussion on Rear END within the Drivetrain forums, part of the LSx Technical Help Section category; I am thinking of purchasing a 9 inch rear end. Is this a good idea?...

some say with automatic and mild power a 12 bolt will be fine.
with manuals they say go with the 9 inch.

the stock ten bolts kinda do break with mild power some even with stock.

Do you do alot of drag racing? Auto or manual? Like he said above, 12 bolt will do for an A4, nine inch for an M6 if you race it alot.

9 inch is bad ass. But the 12 bolt or 9 inch is about the same in strength. 9inch is just a little stronger in my opinion.
