It's rained and been wet out all year in the northeast!

I have no idea what a "wet only clunk" could be, it just doesn't make sense that moisture would cause the noise you hear. I think the only thing water would have an affect on is your brakes. On my Ranger, the back drums will grab when wet, but that simply does not apply to discs.

Shouldn't have to wait long at all for that to happen.

not with this junky weather... the only thing i can possibly think off is that when i put the srpings on my front struts that i didn't tighten the bolt enough and that it might have a little give or something... but it jsut doen'st make sense that it would only do it when it's wet out...

Just for kicks, next time it rains lift the hood and bounce the car on its suspension sitting in your driveway. Who knows, maybe you'll get a noise you can pinpoint.

I think you made this thread just to boost your post count

On a serious note, I still get that clunk every once in a while, haven't really paid attention to see if it's only when it's wet out, got 174k on the clock, I've replaced shocks all the way around, checked all my bushings, so I don't know what it could be either...but now I'm getting a clunk, more of a click clack, in the back when I hit bumps or holes, so I've got bigger problems to worry about

I'm gonna go with the strut mount. Also check your front sway bar as it may be shifted either to the right or left. And check the endlinks to make sure one is not tightened more than the other.

i know this might be far fetched..but i know you have aftermarket headers and Y .....

my car does the same thing..however not only when wet..but the headers are making contact with the frame and or the lower control arm mounting area .....i need to get that fixed really soon..but for shits and giggles and to be nice to be..check your tolerances around that area.
